Anastasios Sextos is a Professor of Earthquake Engineering and the Director of the UKCRIC National Facility for Soil-Foundation-Structure Interaction at the University of Bristol, UK. He holds a dual appointment at the National Technical University of Athens in Greece.

Anastasios utilizes large-scale experimental methods and high-performance computational tools to enhance the seismic resilience of infrastructure and communities. During the years his work has evolved into a quest to device interdisciplinary and disruptive ideas that can reduce the cost and complexity of seismic design across the globe.

He received his PhD from NTUA and holds an MSc from NTUA and Imperial College London. He has worked as an assistant lecturer at the University of Thessaly and as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Pavia and the University of Cyprus. His research activity focuses on structural engineering and seismic risk assessment of structures and pipes. His interests also extend to computational methods in structural analysis and the application of new soft computing methodologies for structural analysis and design.

Ο Δρ Φραγκιαδάκης είναι μέλος του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου της Ελληνικής Εταιρείας Αντισεισμικών Μηχανικών (HSTAM) και εκπρόσωπος της Ελλάδας στη Διεθνή Ένωση Αντισεισμικών Μηχανικών (IAEE). Έχει συμμετάσχει σε πολλά Εθνικά και Ευρωπαϊκά ερευνητικά προγράμματα με έμφαση στην εκτίμηση του σεισμικού κινδύνου.

Michalis Vassiliou is currently an Assistant Professor with the Department of Civil Engineering of NTUA.

From 2019-2025 he was a non Tenure Track Assistant Professor and head of the Chair of Seismic Design and Analysis in the ETH Zürich. He is a Civil Engineer and has studied in NTU Athens (Diploma 2004), UC Berkeley (MSc 2006), and University of Patras (PhD 2010). He was a Postdoc and a Senior Assistant in the ETH (2012-2019).

His research interests lie in the fields of Earthquake Engineering, Applied Mechanics, and Nonlinear Dynamics, with a special focus on rocking, seismic isolation, and applications of 3D printing on seismic testing of structures.
